Thursday: Important CDAG January Board Meeting – All are Welcome
We encourage and look forward to the general publics participation.
Happy New Year everyone – an interesting and busy agenda for the CDAG January board meeting:
Pier 68 Pier 70 Blvd at Delaware River Delaware River Cleanup
Date
October 3, 2017
Time
4 pm – 6 pm
Please join United by Blue, Philadelphia Water Department, Natural Lands, and Cabot for a cleanup of the Delaware River at Pier 68. Once abandoned, Pier 68 was revitalized by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation as a public pier for people to enjoy Philadelphia’s natural waterfront landscape. Families enjoying a picnic, fisherman casting a line, and cyclists riding on the nearby river trail, are drawn to the pier for its majestic views of the Delaware River.
Unfortunately, Pier 68 is often victim to pollution due to its proximity to Columbus Blvd and ajacent commercial area. In addtion, trash accumulates around Pier 68 and surrounding piers from neglectful visitors and from other debris floating down the river. Please help us to cleanup the Delaware River at Pier 68 to keep the integrity of this Philadelphia treasure.
United by Blue will provide all of the cleanup supplies, and all volunteers will have the chance to win United by Blue prizes. We will meet at Pier 68 and fan out to the North, up to Washington Ave., and to the South beyond the piers.
As a thank you to all participating, a dinner will be catered by Cabot’s Gratitude Grille, after the cleanup.
United by Blue thanks Zipcar for its transportation support during our 2017 season.
